Pastéis de nata in a real Lisbon bakery, a Porto mural project, and Algarve cliffs and coastline.
Why Portugal
Portugal moves between three very different cities. In Lisbon, students learn to make pastéis de nata inside a working bakery and help build a community garden, then ride the historic Tram 28 through the old town. Porto brings a street-art mural project overlooking the Douro River and its famous riverside skyline. The Algarve closes the trip with a coastal cleanup at Praia do Camilo, a surf lesson on the Atlantic, and a walk along the region's dramatic limestone cliffs. It's a compact tour of Portuguese food, craft, coastline, and city life across the country's three defining regions. Local partner: a Lisbon-based community and cultural organization, confirmed per trip.
